    The School

    The Role   
    The ideal candidate has the ability to engage constituents and a demonstrated track record of securing gifts with an emphasis on philanthropic gifts that are five-figure and above. 

    This person brings a strong understanding of planned giving vehicles and how they integrate into donor conversations and long-term campaign planning. They are a relationship-builder at their core—someone who leads with curiosity, empathy, and high emotional intelligence, and who believes deeply in honoring donor intent and creating meaningful stewardship experiences.

    This is NOT an entry-level community engagement and fundraising role; we are seeking a proven gift strategist who can confidently engage high-capacity donors, collaborate on comprehensive advancement strategy, and strengthen the culture of philanthropy across our school community.

    Primary Responsibilities - Fundraising & Donor Engagement
    • Demonstrated success closing philanthropic gifts with an emphasis on five-figure gifts and above, from cultivation through stewardship. Will carry a diverse constituent portfolio.
    • Experience developing and growing a planned giving program, including the ability to discuss legacy and estate giving options.
    • Strategic thinker with experience building or scaling advancement programs, including prospect pipeline development and donor portfolio management.
    • Commitment to donor stewardship as an ongoing relational practice, not a transactional step.
    • Creating strategic initiatives and, at times, lead organization-wide outreach, alumni, and advancement events.
    • Build collaborative partnerships with students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni families. 
    • High emotional intelligence with the ability to listen deeply, read a room, and adapt communication style to meet donors and stakeholders where they are.
    • Team focused with a commitment to providing leadership and support with creating, organizing, and executing advancement office events. 
    • Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, faculty, volunteers, and community partners to advance shared goals.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Expectations
    • Highly organized, motivated, strategic thinker, and self-starter with proven interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

    Qualifications 
    • An undergraduate degree or higher is preferred
    • 3+ years of fundraising experience, major gift giving experience required
    • A willingness to be a positive, present, and engaged member of the community
    • A willingness to travel as needed and be out of town for events
    • A willingness to commit to the schools’ initiatives around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
    • Successful experience working within the community and/or alumni relations
    • Demonstrated success in achieving fundraising goals
    • Proven computer skills and comfort with technology; experience with CRM programming

  • Upper School Musical Director (2026-2027)

    Title: Upper School Musical Director (2026-2027 school year)
    Reports to: Production Manager
    Stipend: $5833

    The Role   
    The Miami Valley School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Upper School Musical Director to lead our annual Spring theater production program. The ideal candidate will inspire and develop student talent while creating memorable theatrical experiences for our school community.
    • Availability: Must be available during the 2nd semester (approximately January through May). Our musical traditionally has its productions in mid-late April/early May. The rehearsal schedule is made by you in tandem with the school’s Production Manager. 
    • Support: The Miami Valley School employs a part-time Production Manager, Technical Director, and Choreographer to support the upper school Musical Director. Communication with these individuals will highlight areas of need and creative insights for the best possible experience and production.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Collaborate with the Production Manager, Technical Director, and Choreographer to select the show each year.
    • Secure a Music Director, or alternatively, fill both areas of need yourself.
    • Direct and oversee all aspects of the annual school musical production, from auditions through productions.
    • Communicate with your production team.
    • Mentor and develop students' acting, vocal, and performance skills.
    • Work with the production team on set design, costumes, lighting, and sound.
    • Manage production timeline and ensure readiness for performance dates.
    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative rehearsal environment.
    • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administration.
    • Ensure student safety and adherence to school policies during all activities.
    • Manage all departmental resources effectively to meet and maintain the allocated production budget.
    Qualifications
    • Previous experience directing theatrical productions (preferably musicals) either at the high school or community theatre level.
    • Strong knowledge of musical theater repertoire and performance techniques.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with high school-aged students

  • Facilities Team Member (Part-Time)

    Title: Facilities Team Member

    The Role   
    The Facilities Team Member will help the school and the greater MVS community by performing duties assigned by the Director of Facilities and Grounds. This position is vital in maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the school’s facilities.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Dining Hall and Lunch Service: Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the cafeteria, with a primary focus on cleaning and sanitizing immediately following the last lunch period each day.
    • Floor Care: Perform routine daily floor maintenance and scheduled deep cleaning of floors in the building. 
    • Event Support: Provide essential facilities support for campus events, including the setup and teardown of equipment, seating, and other needs.
    • Safety and security: Perform the necessary actions to secure the facility, including closing and locking of all required doors at the end of the shift.
    • Shared Responsibilities: Participate in the shared responsibility of cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility and actively cross-train with team members on other shifts to provide support as needed
    • Audits and Feedback: Conduct regular building audits and provide timely written or verbal feedback to the Director of Facilities and Grounds regarding the building's condition and required maintenance.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with divisional leadership to understand and meet the special needs of each division/department, ensuring the quality of support aligns with the campus's overall mission and vision.
    • Process Management: Maintain current facilities processes and collaborate with the Director of Facilities and Grounds to develop and implement new operational procedures as appropriate.
    • Strategic Planning: Assist the Director of Facilities and Grounds in developing and executing the strategic plan for facilities operations.
    • Continuous Improvement: Focus on continuous improvements to the campus facility, operations, and appearance.
    • Other Duties: Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Grounds to ensure the effective operation of the facility and campus.
    Physical Requirements & Work Environment
    • Frequently lift equipment and materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
    • Crawl, climb ladders, twist, turn and reach in completing a variety of job duties.
    • Work outside in hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time.
    • Work in a wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school.
    Qualifications 
    • At least 1 year of facilities and grounds experience in a school setting (preferred)
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Must be able to pass a BCI & FBI background check

    Title: Upper School Girls Lacrosse Head Coach
    Reports to: Director of Athletics
    Stipend: Spring - $750

Equally important is our commitment to Social Emotional Learning (SEL), through which our students learn the skills and competencies necessary to navigate an ever-shifting world with confidence and curiosity.     The Role   
    The upper school lacrosse coach is tasked with overseeing the upper school lacrosse program, which includes organizing practices, accompanying the teams to games, and teaching students lacrosse skills and gameplay. The upper school lacrosse team plays in the Metro Buckeye Conference.  In addition to maintaining a well-organized and welcoming program, the lacrosse coach is an enthusiastic representative of MVS Athletics who attends athletic department events, trainings, pep rallies, and coaches’ meetings as set by the Director of Athletics.

    • Assist in preparation and planning for the recognition of athletes for your coaching season (End of year sports awards).
    • Game Preparation including understanding of rules and regulations of the league, score keeping, and any other duties assigned by league officials (or willingness to learn)
    • Attend all coaches meetings.
    • Remain with student athletes at school, or end of games, until all have been picked up after practices or away contests.
    • Attend sport clinics and workshops at the direction of the Athletic Director.
    • Attain and maintain all mandatory certifications required for my sport including but not limited to OHSAA Coaches Toolbox training, CPR, van driving and first aid training.
    • Assume responsibility by returning and/or accounting for any uniforms or equipment loaned to the lacrosse team, submitting a list of students to be billed for uniform items, and a list of damaged or disreputable uniforms at the end of each season.
    • Helping with practice setup and teardown of lacrosse equipment.
    • Assist in helping student athletes with recommendations post season  and summer training and club team opportunities. 
    • Help prepare students for the collegiate level and with college recruitment.
    • Maintain records and protocols for upper school student athletes using MVS seasonal sports to meet State of Ohio graduation requirements in collaboration with the MVS Registrar.
    • Assist the Athletic Director with hiring and managing assistant coaching staff.
    • Any other duties assigned by the Athletic Director .

    Qualifications 
    • Experienced in the rules and regulations of lacrosse.
    • BCI/FBI background check required.
    • Must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time.

    The Role   
    The upper school track and field coach is tasked with overseeing the upper school track and field program, which includes organizing practices, accompanying the teams to meets, and teaching students track and field  skills and techniques. The upper school track and field  team competes in the Metro Buckeye Conference.  In addition to maintaining a well-organized and welcoming program, the coach is an enthusiastic representative of MVS Athletics who attends athletic department events, trainings, pep rallies, and coaches’ meetings as set by the Director of Athletics.

    Expectations
    • Assist in preparation and planning for the recognition of athletes for your coaching season (End of year athletic  awards, Senior Night).
    • Meet Preparation including understanding of rules and regulations of the OHSAA and Metro Buckeye Conference, score keeping, and any other duties assigned by league or meet officials (or willingness to learn).
    • Attend all coaches meetings.
    • Remain with student athletes at school or end of meets until all student athletes have been picked up after practices or away contests.
    • Attend sport clinics and workshops at the direction of the Athletic Director.
    • Attain and maintain all mandatory certifications required for my sport including but not limited to OHSAA Coaches Toolbox training, CPR, van driving, and first aid training.
    • Assume responsibility by returning and accounting for any uniforms or equipment loaned to the sport and players, submitting a list of students to be billed for uniform items, and a list of damaged or disreputable uniforms at the end of each season.
    • Assist in helping student athletes with recommendations post season and summer training and club team opportunities. 
    • Assist in sports scheduling.
    • Help prepare students for the college level and with college recruitment.
    • Maintain records and protocols for upper school student athletes using MVS seasonal sports to meet State of Ohio graduation requirements in collaboration with the MVS Registrar.
    • Assist the Athletic Director with hiring and managing assistant coaching staff.
    • Any other duties assigned by the Athletic Director .

    • Collaborate with assistant coaches and other spring sports programs, and performing arts programs, to support multi-sport athletes.

    The Role   
    The middle school track and field coach is tasked with overseeing the middle school track and field program, which includes organizing practices, accompanying the teams to meets, and teaching students track and field  skills and techniques. The middle school track and field  team competes in the Metro Buckeye Conference.  In addition to maintaining a well-organized and welcoming program, the coach is an enthusiastic representative of MVS Athletics who attends athletic department events, trainings, pep rallies, and coaches’ meetings as set by the Director of Athletics.

    • Develop and propose new courses each year, including new Immersion programs;
    • Serve as an advisor for a group of 10-12 students in Middle and Upper Schools;
    • Lead and/or advise extracurricular activities, which include student clubs and athletics;
    • Report to the appropriate Division Director.
     
    Qualifications
    • Possess a desire to work with students in an experiential setting;
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents;
    • Possess excellent communication skills;
    • Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in teaching, advising clubs, coaching athletics, and/or leading student travel learning programs;
    • Undergraduate or advanced degree(s) in appropriate programs; 
    • Candidates without prior teaching experience will also be considered.
