  The Role.  The Receptionist attends to visitors and deals with inquiries on the phone and face to face. Supply information regarding the school to the general public, parents and students. This position is responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and administrative support to the Business Office.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operates multi-line telephone system answering incoming telephone calls, determining purpose of calls, and forwarding calls to appropriate community members or departments
  • Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate community members or departments
  • Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are unavailable
  • Answers questions about the school and provides callers with other information
  • Welcomes on-site visitors, determines the nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel
  • Processes on-site visitors and vendors through the visitor management system for security purposes and issues visitor passes to all visitors and vendors
  • Receives queries from caregivers and the public
  • Receives, sorts, and routes mail to each department or division
  • Processes credit cards for payment of products or tuition/incidentals
  • Deposits all checks electronically utilizing a bank-provided remote deposit terminal and updates daily log of all payments received via mail
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support to all departments
  • Monitors and maintains office supplies for the front desk
  • Maintain postage machine and order postage and supplies
  • Other duties as assigned

  
  

  Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ related experience, 2 or 4-year degree preferred, but not required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to learn and enthusiasm for constant improvement
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Proficient in Google suite of products (Google sheets, docs, drive, calendar) or other similar software

• Fall Middle School Co-Ed Cross Country Coach

  The middle school cross country coach is tasked with overseeing the middle school cross country program, which includes organizing practices, accompanying the teams to games, and teaching students cross country skills and gameplay. The Middle School Cross Country team participates in Metro Buckeye Conference and OHSAA affiliated meets.  In addition to maintaining a well-organized and welcoming program, the cross country coach is an enthusiastic representative of MVS Athletics who attends athletic department events, trainings, pep rallies, and coaches’ meetings as set by the Director of Athletics.

  • Game Preparation including understanding of rules and regulations of the league, score keeping, and any other duties assigned by league officials (or willingness to learn)
  • Attend all coaches meetings.
  • Remain with student athletes at school, or end of games, until all have been picked up after practices or away contests.
  • Attend sport clinics and workshops at the direction of the Athletic Director.
  • Attain and maintain all mandatory certifications required for my sport including but not limited to OHSAA Coaches Toolbox training, Pupil Activity Permit, CPR, van driving and first aid training.
  • Assume responsibility by returning and/or accounting for any uniforms or equipment loaned to the cross country team, submitting a list of students to be billed for uniform items, and a list of damaged or disreputable uniforms at the end of each season.
  • Helping with practice setup and teardown of cross country equipment.
  • Assist in helping student athletes with recommendations post season  and summer training and club team opportunities. 
  • Help prepare students for the collegiate level and with college recruitment.
  • Maintain records and protocols for middle school student athletes using MVS seasonal sports to meet State of Ohio graduation requirements in collaboration with the MVS Registrar.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Athletic Director .

  Qualifications 

  • Experienced in the rules and regulations of cross country.
  • BCI/FBI background check required.

  • Assist in helping student athletes with recommendations post season  and summer training and club team opportunities. 
  • Assist Athletic Director in hiring and managing assistant coaching staff.
  • Help prepare students for the upper school level athletics.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.

  Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach in a classroom setting. Responsibilities and classes vary based on grade level;
  • Lead/Co-lead an Immersion program in January;
  • Develop and propose new courses each year, including new Immersion programs;
  • Serve as an advisor for a group of 10-12 students in Middle and Upper Schools;
  • Lead and/or advise extracurricular activities, which include student clubs and athletics;
  • Report to the appropriate Division Director.

   

  Qualifications

  • Possess a desire to work with students in an experiential setting;
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents;
  • Possess excellent communication skills;
  • Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in teaching, advising clubs, coaching athletics, and/or leading student travel learning programs;
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree(s) in appropriate programs; 
  • Candidates without prior teaching experience will also be considered.

  Position Summary

  The Miami Valley School’s (MVS) mission is to challenge young people of promise to become self-sustaining learners and compassionate global citizens.   The Miami Valley School is seeking part-time substitute teachers who are excited about fulfilling our school’s mission and supporting students while full-time faculty are absent. Ideal candidates will be excited about working with students and delivering lessons designed by MVS faculty members. In addition, ideal candidates will have completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. While a background in education is preferred, we welcome candidates from a diverse range of employment backgrounds.
