  • Learning Support Specialist - Upper School

    Title: Upper School Learning Support Specialist

    The Role
    MVS is seeking a dynamic, innovative upper school Learning Support Specialist who is committed to inclusivity in all they do. The ideal candidate is passionate and skillful as an intervention specialist and a leader, eager to invest their talents in implementing an MVS-specific Learning Support program in collaboration with the learning support specialists supporting other grade levels. This specialist provides 9th through 12th grade learning support program oversight and instruction, including day-to-day management of student academic learning support. The Learning Support Specialist works closely with the upper school division director, school counselor, college counselor, and teachers to provide support for individual students.

    Expectations

    • Collaborate with the Learning Support Team  to develop continuity of the Learning Support Program from kindergarten through 12th grade
    • Participate fully in the life of the upper school
    • Effectively communicate, as needed, with students, caregivers, faculty, and administrators
    • Demonstrates a collaborative and collegial spirit, building rapport with other members of the administration, faculty, staff, caregivers, and students
    • Embraces the vision of Mastery Teaching and Mastery Performance in their daily activities
    • Serve as an instructional leader on mind brain education (MBE) strategies
    • Compassionately engage, inspire, and nurture students
    • Demonstrate passion for teaching and learning
    • Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the field of learning support

      Primary Responsibilities
      • Review/maintain student records/files, analyze psycho-educational reports, and provide recommendations based on these reports
      • Provide academic support for students
      • Review admissions applications in collaboration with the appropriate division director and Learning Support Team leader to anticipate the needs of future students
      • Support assigned students receiving accommodations through MVS’ Learning Support System
      • Consult with faculty members, administration, caregivers, and outside professionals regularly to monitor student progress and amend the Learning Profile as needed
      • Meet with students to discuss and develop strategies for learning difficulties
      • Create learning support profiles and submit applications for standardized test accommodations for students with diagnosed learning issues
      • Present mind brain education (MBE) strategies at faculty and student meetings
      • Teach one section of 9th grade transition course (Learning to Learn)
      • Participate fully in the life of the school, particularly the January Immersion term.
       
      Qualifications
      • Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Special Education or Intervention Specialist
      • Intervention Specialist licensure or commitment to actively pursue licensure         
      • Knowledge of various learning styles and the impact of neurodiversity on learning
      • Experience working in an upper school setting preferred, not required

    • College Counseling Associate (Part-Time, 20-25%)

      Title: College Counseling Associate (Part-Time, 20-25%)
      Approximately 10 hours per week. Must be available on August 18, 19, and 21 in 2025 for senior events.

      The Role
      MVS is seeking a dynamic College Counseling Associate to support the work of the Director of College Counseling. The ideal candidate is eager to invest their talents in creating a welcoming experience for all who interact with the college counseling office; students, families, college representatives, etc. Supporting marketing and logistics for events hosted by the college counseling office, such as; Senior College Kickoff, MVS College Admissions Workshop & Mini College Fair, Junior College Kickoff, Appy Hours, etc. Elevating awareness of events through social media posts, creating and writing sections of the monthly newsletter, coordinating story takeovers, etc. The College Counseling Associate would also manage the planning and coordination of the PSAT as well as oversee planning and communications related to college representative visits to MVS.

        Responsibilities
        • Collaborate with the Director of College Counseling  to;
          • Support events: 
            • Marketing and communication leading up to events
            • Event logistics
            • Oversee and support set-up needs 
          • Coordinate College Rep visits and communication
            • Email students who have registered 48 hrs in advance, email reps 48 hours before the visit, keep track of permission forms, and communicate with teachers when we’re using classrooms
            • Support The Director of College Counseling to host college reps when no one else is available. Potentially hosting college rep visits one day per week in the fall, plus the full week of  9/17-9/20/25.
          • PSAT planning and coordination
            • 10/1 PSAT/ NMSQT testing date
          • Create social media posts, coordinate story takeovers with students in college
          • Write and create sections of the monthly newsletter

         
        Qualifications
        • Bachelor’s degree in Writing, Marketing, or other related field;
        • Enthusiasm for the college counseling process;
        • Demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency (e.g., Google suite of applications, student information systems and online grade book programs),  and Social Media platforms

      • Library Media Specialist (Long-Term Substitute)

        Title: Library Media Specialist (Long-Term Substitute)
        This position will begin mid-October 2025 and run through January 2026.

        The Role
        MVS is seeking a dynamic and innovative Library Media Specialist. The ideal candidate is passionate and skillful as both a librarian and an educator, eager to invest their talents in creating a welcoming, up to date physical space as well as inspiring our learners. This person must establish a supportive and engaging environment for students ranging in age from three to eighteen, demonstrate the ability to create developmentally appropriate curricula, work collaboratively with colleagues and parents, have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate teaching proficiency and comfort with a variety of different teaching and learning styles. The candidate will be responsible for meeting the community’s ever-changing information needs through developing the library collection and identifying appropriate electronic resources.

          Primary Responsibilities
          • Collaborate with the Assistant Head of School to establish a continuity of curriculum and instruction from early childhood through 12th grade;
          • Conduct research instruction sessions and collaborate with teachers to develop research assignments that support 21st century skills and critical thinking;
          • Plan and teach K-12 class sessions, lessons, read alouds, book talks, and activities as required by grade/division;
          • Lead improvements to school-wide information literacy and digital citizenship curriculum based on forward-thinking state and national educational standards;
          • Support and promote open access and intellectual freedom;
          • Tracking usage data; evaluating and reporting the effectiveness and value of library services to the MVS community;
          • Develop and create collections for K-5 classes from all available resources;
          • Responsibly managing library budget/expenses in accordance with Business Office guidelines;
          • Developing library policies that ensure equitable access to materials and that align with the ALA Code of Ethics;
          • Conducting all day-to-day library operations, including:
            • Circulation
            • Readers advisory
            • Recruiting, scheduling, and training library volunteers when possible
            • Collection development (selection, acquisition, weeding) for the physical and digital collections
            • Cataloging new materials and preparing new materials for circulation
            • Maintaining a functional, accessible, and inviting library space
           
          Qualifications
          • Master of Library and Information Science or Master of Education;
          • Enthusiasm and amiability in working with children of all ages;
          • Demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency (e.g., Google suite of applications, student information systems and online grade book programs),  and Koha ILS strongly preferred but not required

        • Soccer Coach - Lower School Boys/Girls

          Title: Lower School Girls/Boys Soccer Head Coach
          Reports to: Director of Athletics
          Stipend: Fall-

Equally important is our commitment to Social Emotional Learning (SEL), through which our students learn the skills and competencies necessary to navigate an ever-shifting world with confidence and curiosity.           The Role.   The lower school soccer head coach is tasked with overseeing the lower school soccer program, which includes organizing practices, accompanying the teams to games, and teaching students soccer skills and gameplay. The lower school soccer team plays in the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) Conference.  In addition to maintaining a well-organized and welcoming program, the soccer head coach is an enthusiastic representative of MVS Athletics who attends athletic department events, trainings, pep rallies, and coaches’ meetings as set by the Director of Athletics.

          • And, of course, you will get to make an impact! As the head soccer coach, you will have an impact on the greater MVS community as you build relationships with your players and nurture their success. 

          Expectations:
          • Assist in preparation and planning for the recognition of athletes for your coaching season (i.e. end of year athletic awards).
          • Game preparation including understanding of rules and regulations of the CYO league, score keeping, and any other duties assigned by league officials (or willingness to learn)
          • Attend all coaches meetings.
          • Remain with student athletes at school, or end of games, until all have been picked up after practices or away contests.
          • Attend sport clinics and workshops at the direction of the Athletic Director.
          • Attain and maintain all mandatory certifications required for my sport including but not limited to OHSAA Coaches Toolbox training, CPR, and first aid training.
          • Assume responsibility by returning and/or accounting for any uniforms or equipment loaned to the volleyball team, submitting a list of students to be billed for uniform items, and a list of damaged or disreputable uniforms at the end of each season.
          • Monitor field lines and update the Athletic Director for the need of relining. 
          • Assist in helping student athletes with recommendations post season  and summer training and club team opportunities. 
          • Assist Athletic Director in hiring and managing assistant coaching staff.
          • Partner with middle school staff to help student athletes prepare for the next level.
          • Any other duties assigned by the Athletic Director .
          Qualifications 
          • Experienced in the rules and regulations of volleyball.
          • BCI/FBI background check required.
          • Must be able to be on their feet for long period of time.

        • Volleyball Coach - Middle School Girls

          Title: Middle School Girls Volleyball
          Reports to: Director of Athletics
          Stipend: Winter-

          The Role.   The middle school volleyball coach is tasked with overseeing the middle school volleyball program, which includes organizing practices, accompanying the teams to games, and teaching students volleyball skills and gameplay. The middle school volleyball team plays in the Metro Buckeye Conference.  In addition to maintaining a well-organized and welcoming program, the volleyball coach is an enthusiastic representative of MVS Athletics who attends athletic department events, trainings, pep rallies, and coaches’ meetings as set by the Director of Athletics.

          The Role.   The upper school volleyball coach is tasked with overseeing the upper school volleyball program, which includes organizing practices, accompanying the teams to games, and teaching students volleyball skills and gameplay. The upper school volleyball team plays in the Metro Buckeye Conference.  In addition to maintaining a well-organized and welcoming program, the volleyball coach is an enthusiastic representative of MVS Athletics who attends athletic department events, trainings, pep rallies, and coaches’ meetings as set by the Director of Athletics.

          • Remain with student athletes at school, or end of games, until all have been picked up after practices or away contests.
          • Attend sport clinics and workshops at the direction of the Athletic Director.
          • Attain and maintain all mandatory certifications required for my sport including but not limited to OHSAA Coaches Toolbox training, CPR, van driving and first aid training.

          MVS is seeking a responsible and reliable school bus driver to transport students to field trips and athletic events, while ensuring their safety. The school bus driver’s responsibilities include ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, observing safety and traffic rules, and maintaining order among students while they are on the bus.
           
          The Opportunity
          To be successful as a school bus driver, you should enjoy working with children and strictly observe passenger transport regulations. Ultimately, a top-notch school bus driver should be meticulous when it comes to vehicle inspections and regard passenger safety as the highest priority.
           
          School Bus Driver Responsibilities:
           
          • Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety.
          • Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops.
          • Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals, mechanical equipment, etc.
          • Monitoring and reporting fuel consumption, mileage, and passenger numbers.
          • Reporting delays, accidents, and emergencies.
          • Responding to emergency and non-emergency situations.
          • Inspecting the vehicle thoroughly before and after each trip.
          • Assisting with the loading and unloading of the bus when required.
          • Enforcing conduct and safety rules on the bus.
          • Maintaining a clean vehicle.
